The Earth2 Community has faced two targeted bot attacks over the past week - here are the facts, and what all Discord Server owners should do about it.
The Zigurat City Discord server was hit with two waves of harmful Discord bots on two consecutive days. They handled the situation extremely well, clearing all 100 bots off the server. However, these machines managed to send misleading information, and even start voice calls with members of the server.
What you should do to stop it happening to you: Make sure, if you are a server owner, to set your Discord server's moderation settings to at least the medium level. This will stop fully automated bots from attacking your server. If you are particularly concerned about this issue, then it is advisable to turn off 'the ability for someone to message you directly from a server' in your privacy settings of that Discord group.
